Get ready for another installment of my favorite happy hours in Houston by neighborhood series. Check out the first one about downtown spots here and Midtown spots here. I like to find places that have happy hour deals on drinks AND food because who isn’t craving both right after a long day? Keep in mind that the Uptown/Galleria area is pretty swanky, so while you won’t find $3 wells here, these places have some great deals on high-quality food and drink!
North Italia
North Italia is my staple happy hour in the Uptown area because it has my favorite HH special of all time- $20 for a bottle of wine and a chef’s board with meat and cheese. Drool. The $3 zucchini chips are also a win. No matter how many times I try to make zucchini chips, they end up being a soggy mess. I don’t even bother anymore. I just come here. They are perfect. And happy hour on Sunday?! Yes, please.
Specials
- $4 beers
- $5 wine glasses
- $3 zucchini chips, $5 bruschetta $8 pizzas, $10 chef board
When? Sunday- Friday 3-6pm
Where? 1700 Post Oak Blvd #190, Houston, TX 77056
Moxie’s Grill and Bar
Moxie’s is relatively new, opening about a year and a half ago. Their vibe is very bright, clean, and happy. This place is huge and spans 2 stories. On the second floor, they have a covered wrap around patio which is a neat spot to settle into and take in the views of the upscale Post Oak neighborhood. But really, Moxie’s just wants you to have fun. They even stay open til 2 am, so I see this place becoming a good addition to the uptown nightlife scene (which isn’t too poppin’ so thanks Moxie’s).
Specials
- $5.50 wine, beer
- $8 cocktails
- $8-10 food lettuce wraps, guacamole
When? Mon- Fri 3-6pm
Where? 5000 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77056
HS Green
This one is a little extra special for 3 BIG reasons.
1. Plenty of parking in a strip center away from the Galleria cluster. Hallelujah!
2. All day happy hour on Saturday?! Wow. Just wow.
3. Their bar bites are so affordable, I want them all.
Specials
- $3 beers with a special $2 daily beer
- $5 wines
- $2-9 bar bites including hummus, blackened shrimp, a cheese board, and chicken satay
When? Monday-Friday 3-7PM, Saturday All Day
Where? 5092 Richmond Ave, Houston, TX 77056
Caracol
The story of Hugo Ortega, the owner of Caracol and 3 other big-time restaurants, is enough to make your heart melt and want to support his restaurants (although at this point, he is not doing too shabby). A Mexican immigrant who started work in America by cleaning offices, he ended up working his way up to open Hugo’s, Caracol, and most recently Xochi. The food is authentic and just freaking good. And this is another spot with Saturday happy hour!
Specials
- $7 wine and cocktails
- $7-8.50 food including quesadillas, mini lobster rolls, and crab fritters
When? Monday-Friday 3-7pm, Saturday 11am-7pm
Where? 2200 Post Oak Blvd #160, Houston, TX 77056
Cafe Annie
Cafe Annie is one of the more “fancy” ones on this list (aren’t they all?), but let’s not forget that this is the Galleria and that Cafe Annie’s happy hour lasts ALL NIGHT and on Saturdays. I mean, who does that? They also have a long terrace that overlooks some nice nature-y stuff. Trees are always nice.

- $5 beers
- $6 wines
- $8 cocktails
- $8 bar bites
When? Monday- Friday 4pm – close, Saturday 5pm – close
